These beginner-friendly meditation workshops are a perfect way to learn the practice of meditation in a way that fits into your life.

The two-session workshop will include guided meditations, simple methods on how to maintain the experience of inner peace in daily life and time to discuss the teachings. This experiential and practical workshop will reveal how we can use Buddhist meditation and positive thinking to transform every moment of our daily life. Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary.

FAQs

Our meditation workshops are very accessible. You do not need to bring any mats or wear any special clothing. We provide both cushions and chairs, and there is no physical exercise, yoga, or stretching involved.
Feel free to come however you are comfortable. We ask people to remove shoes and hats when you enter the meditation room.
Nothing in particular, but some people like to take notes so you may wish to bring a notepad and pen.
Yes, our meditation workshops are perfect for everyone. This course, in particular is a great way to begin a meditation practice – no previous experience is necessary.
No, our meditation workshops are presented in a way that is accessible to everyone, and no religious obligation is required.

Cost

The cost of the course is $20 per person.

Community Lunch

Arrive early for an optional vegetarian lunch with our community. Cost $5. Gluten-free and vegan options are often available, but not guaranteed.


What to Expect?

  • Guided Meditation

    Be guided in a short breathing meditation and connect to an experience of inner peace. No prior experience is necessary.

  • Short Talk

    Every course provides fundamental instruction on how to meditate as well. It also highlights one aspect of Dharma, or Buddha’s teachings, which focus on solutions to problems in daily life, inducing genuine optimism and increased happiness.

  • Enjoy a Break

    Enjoy the company of like-minded people between classes in the Temple, Café and Bookstore. The break last 45 minutes.

  • Session 2

    We review what was learned in the first session, meditate and discuss how we can integrate meditation in our daily life.

  • Q&A

    At the end of the course, there is time for questions & answers. All advice is given as suggestions to improve personal understanding of the teachings and to provide examples of how to apply the teachings to daily life.

  • Stay on for Lunch

    After the class, enjoy a home-style vegetarian meal with the residential community at the Temple and with those who attended the course. Meals are $5 and must be booked in advance.
