Staying Calm When Things Go Wrong

Thursdays, 7-8:30pm
October 12 – November 16

When life is busy and many problems come our way, we often react by becoming frustrated or discouraged. Suitable for everyone, this series of classes will present practical techniques for you to let go of challenging thoughts and feelings, to discover an inner wealth of peace and well-being, and become more patient, generous and wise.

Through attending these weekly classes, you will come to practically experience the profound meaning of Buddha’s wisdom advice, empowering you to overcome your problems and find real meaning in your life. Each class includes guided meditations, practical advice on how to maintain the experience of the inner peace in daily life and time to discuss the ideas presented. Classes are held year-round.

Meditations for a Clear Mind

This series of classes will be based on the book Meditations for a Clear Mind

Class Format

Each class begins with a brief breathing meditation which is guided by the teacher. No previous experience is necessary.
Every week the teachings explore one aspect of Dharma, or Buddha’s teachings, which focus on solutions to problems in daily life, inducing genuine optimism and increased happiness.
The class concludes with time for discussion between those in attendance. Time is then given to address any questions that come from listening to the teachings and discussion.
