Current Series: Stand Up to Anger

Thursdays,  May 4 – June 1

Learn to use meditation to anger-proof your mind! Stress, frustration and anger are common experiences in modern life, especially when we encounter challenging situations and difficult people. They destroy our happiness, damage our relationships, and cause us to act in ways we later regret.  Buddha’s teachings explain practical methods to liberate our mind from these negative and painful emotions through cultivating patient acceptance, inner peace, love, and the strength of mind to stand up to anger.

Through attending these weekly classes, you will come to practically experience the profound meaning of Buddha’s wisdom advice, empowering you to overcome your problems and find real meaning in your life.

This series of classes will be based on the book How to Solve our Human Problems

Class Format

Each class begins with a brief breathing meditation which is guided by the teacher. No previous experience is necessary.
Every week the teachings explore one aspect of Dharma, or Buddha’s teachings, which focus on solutions to problems in daily life, inducing genuine optimism and increased happiness.
The class concludes with time for discussion between those in attendance. Time is then given to address any questions that come from listening to the teachings and discussion.

Through sincerely training in meditation on the teachings given in these classes you will attain spiritual realizations, which lead you to permanent liberation from all the sufferings of this life and countless future lives. There is no greater meaning than this. Even temporarily, whenever you experience problems, unpleasant feelings, depression or unhappiness you can solve these problems immediately by transforming your mind into peace through your meditation practice. The benefits of meditation are immeasurable.
