This weekend meditation retreat will present a Buddhist approach to overcome fear and anxiety and to learn to live with stability and confidence. In the breaks, enjoy meaningful conversation and relax amidst the beauty and tranquility of the Temple and its natural surroundings.

This retreat will be based upon a day course at KMC New York City the week prior. *You do not need to attend the course in the city to attend the retreat.

Gen Samten, the Resident Teacher at KMC NY will lead the silent retreat. He is well known for his ability to present Buddha’s most profound teachings in a practical and accessible way. Gen Samten carries with him a wealth of experience in skillfully guiding sincere practitioners to profound meditative insights on retreat.

Retreat Structure

Retreat Sessions

There are three sessions each day, each for approximately 90 minutes. The sessions combine practical instruction and guided meditation that will allow you to:

  • connect with an experience of true inner peace
  • develop basic techniques that can help you to create a consistent habit of meditation
  • leave with practical inner tools to apply what you’ve have learned to your daily life

All retreat sessions are in the World Peace Temple.

    • 9-10am  |  Guided Meditation
    • 11:30am-1pm | Teaching & Guided Meditation

During the Breaks

Between retreat sessions take time to relax and carry your experience of peace in the following ways:

The retreat fee is $60
Meals are $5 each*. Lunch and dinner are served in our community dining hall at 1pm and 6pm respectively. All meals are vegetarian. *Breakfast is always included with accommodations.
*Onsite accommodation is available – rooms are available subject to availability.
