Step out of your busy daily life and into the peace and beauty of Kadampa Meditation Center New York. This beginner-friendly retreat offers guided meditation and practical teachings on modern Buddhism.

Discover how you can improve the quality of your life through learning to live each moment with gratitude, freedom and inner peace. Then, re-enter your life confident, balanced and refreshed. Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary.

Between sessions enjoy healthy snacks and good coffee in the World Peace Cafe, immerse yourself in the stunning foliage on our 82 acres of trails and woodlands, or explore the  local Catskills towns.


The retreat will be led by Kadampa Buddhist Teacher Rebecca Rehorn.  Rebecca has many years of experience. She has been studying and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for many years, and is known for her kindness and warmth. Her teachings are heartfelt and easy to apply in daily life.

What to Expect?

Retreat Sessions

This Autumn Getaway retreat will provide three sessions each day, each for approximately 75 minutes. The sessions combine practical instruction and guided meditation that will allow you to:

  • connect with an experience of inner peace through meditation
  • develop basic techniques that can help you to create a consistent habit of meditation
  • leave with practical inner tools to apply what you’ve have learned to your daily life

All retreat sessions are in the World Peace Temple.

    • 9-10am  |  Guided Meditation
    • 11:30am-1pm | Teaching & Guided Meditation
    • Afternoon Break
    • 7:30-9pm | Teaching/Q&A

During the Breaks

Between retreat sessions take time to relax and carry your experience of peace in the following ways:

  • nourish yourself with a refreshing drink and healthy snacks in the World Peace Café
  • peruse our bookstore and giftshop
  • immerse yourself in the stunning foliage found within our 82 acres of trails and grounds
  • explore local towns and nature spots in the Catskills
  • connect and discuss with like-minded people
