Heruka Close Retreat & Fire Puja

January 7 – February 20 | Application Now Open

An opportunity to engage in qualified close retreat with guidance and support in a blessed and peaceful environment. In order to complete the Heruka Counting Retreat commitments it is necessary to engage in a Heruka Fire Puja. One will be taking place on March 22, 2025 at KMC New York.

Please note that for the Fire Puja we ask that you arrive no later than Friday, March 21 and plan to stay until March 24 as the Fire Puja may be delayed to weather, also, to help with preparations and clean up.

Teacher: Gen Samten Kelsang

One of Venerable Geshe-la’s senior disciples, Gen Samten Kelsang oversees the spiritual program at KMC New York, and teaches throughout the US and around the world. Having engaged in a three-year meditation retreat, he is renowned for the clarity of his teachings, ability to help students improve their practice, and skill in leading practitioners to profound meditative insights.


Retreat Costs

The Heruka Close Retreat is a set price of $150 regardless of the number of weeks/days the person stays. Due to the nature of these retreats, we do not offer drop-ins for days or individual sessions.

Accommodations

Please use the chart below for accommodation options and prices. Note that for accommodations (not including meals) booked for 2 consecutive weeks, a 20% discount is applied; for 3 consecutive weeks, a 30% discount is applied; and for 4 consecutive weeks or more, a 40% discount is applied. 

Onsite Meals

Vegetarian, vegan and/or wheat-free lunches and dinners are available daily for $8 each. Breakfast is included in onsite accommodation fees. Breakfast is available for those staying offsite, but it must be pre-booked. All of our meals are home-cooked, using fresh and local produce where possible.
